Morning and Afternoon sessions 9-12 and 1-4
Saturday September 29th at Countryside in the old Duffy Barn

Morning session: 9:00 to noon
Take a peaceful walk around the beautiful farmstead at Countryside. Connect with the trees. These magnificent beings that share a symbiotic relationship with us, taking in our carbon dioxide and releasing oxygen that we use. The farmstead is filled with old fruit trees once raised for food, reminding us that trees nurish our bodies and our souls. Sit by one and journal some of your observations.
Regroup to discuss your impressions. Write and journal about your experience. Then we'll participate in a yoga practice with a meditation that focuses on bringing the energy of trees to you to calm and heal.
Afternoon session: Creating a Tree of Life 1:00 to 4:30
After lunch, enjoy a short talk on the tree as a metaphor. In many religions, trees represent a connection to three levels: underground, earth, and sky.Trees
best mirror the phrase: As above, so below. Inspired by the impressions and notes you took during the morning activities, create a piece of art, using
the theme of The Tree of Life.
You can choose one or both sessions
$20 for one session. Both sessions: $35.
Art supplies provided. Bring a journal and a yoga mat (Bring yoga props as needed).

Christine has been an art teacher for 28 years and a practicing yogi for 9. She is a certified yoga teacher and teaches yoga in various venues throughout Northeastern Ohio. Chris loves practicing yoga and making art and believes that combining the two is a perfect way to strengthen the psyche and soothe the soul.
